I'd be afraid to "sit through" bad disjointed American vocalizations too! >_<;xJAYMANxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02355935274349122202noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1928088858958947560.post-49873043846527900372010-02-27T16:05:54.287-06:002010-02-27T16:05:54.287-06:00I think I'd give it a 3, maybe a 4. And there were several really powerful episodes (that had nothing to do with Miaka, Yui, or Tamahome, lol) that moved me. But there was just too much of the silly nonsense (and I mean that literally too, because Tamahome's character churns out some bizarre and often out of place comedic "relief") for me to even consider giving it a 5 out of 5.
I thought it was decent; I did sit through all 52 episodes after all.Krishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17515890913645064808noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1928088858958947560.post-38987589382841593542010-02-27T12:44:50.229-06:002010-02-27T12:44:50.229-06:00@Kris-chan: Heyyy, glad you had a chance to watch ...@Kris-chan: Heyyy, glad you had a chance to watch the anime! Too bad about the English version. Fortunately, the files I had were presented in Japanese audio, English subs. Which is always the preferred and more-enjoyable experience for me. Actually, my memory was getting rusty, wondering if I ever reviewed this myself. But lo and behold, I finally found it, back in Blog 061, haha. We definitely share many of the same observations. Except perhaps for the final rating. ^_^

+++++ Fushigi Yuugi – Season 2 (27-52) – My speed review: “DOUBLE-WOW! Older but complex quest and love story!” (5 of 5 stars!)

Because the first season ended in such tragedy, it took me months to finally continue and finish Fushigi Yuugi – Season 2 (1995). But I’m glad I did! Despite its older animation quality, if one looks past that and into the story, one can see the ongoing growth and development of Japanese junior-high schoolgirl Miaka, her best friend Yui, as well as her new love Tamahome and her new friends within the storybook world of ancient China. Almost every emotion can be found and felt in this anime: Happiness, sadness, jealousy, comedy, inspiration, fear, hesitation, hope, heartbreak and disbelief! This series definitely withstands the test of time, even if the fiction-to-fact crossover ending can be kinda confusing, lol… 5 of 5 stars!xJAYMANxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02355935274349122202noreply@blogger.com
